I don’t know if it’s just me, but the older I get, the more I tend to look within and analyze “What did I do wrong?” or “Could I have handled that differently?”  Many times it provides me with valuable insight into, well, me.  Not that I always like what I observe.

This is why I say that introspection can feel like a gift I want to give back.  When you periodically go thru this exercise, you realize just how vulnerable you really are and you begin to wonder do I really want to go there?

For centuries, philosophers have stated “Know Thyself”, “To Thine Own Self Be True”.  What does that really mean? Does it mean, “Oh well, that’s just me, deal with it!”  I believe it is meant to focus us on self-awareness for the sake of our continuing growth and development.

But, and I am being transparent here, I really don’t want to change that. “I could care less if you just got offended by what I said, why should I change?” is what really runs thru my mind.     And then you realize that the self-awareness is not just an “I thunk it up” scenario, but rather a deeper analysis of your heart and spirit that is going on.  It is a spiritual awakening of things within the recesses of your core.  For me, that’s how God’s Spirit deals with me.  For you, it may be something else.  But what neither of us can deny is that it’s a spiritual thing.

Have you been having a nudge within yourself related to same introspective topic over and over?  Have you been ignoring it because it is just something you don’t want to deal with or address?  Have you been avoiding it like you do cutting the grass?  Maybe its time to accept that spiritual collect call and find out exactly how you are supposed to grow around that one thing.
