This is the first post on Tarheels, Grits and Jesus.  It will be a short one.  I want to simply thank you for checking me out.  Take a minute to read what this blog is about, learn about me, what I am reading and browse the FAQs.

A few things for you to know about TGJ:

1. This will be a blog updated during the weekdays.  Weekends are family time and time to re-energize.  Plus, I am sure I will get plenty of new things to blog about after a couple of days off.

2. Speaking of days off, if I won’t be able to update a blog due to travel, vacation or other issues, I will make sure I let you know.

3. Last, this is a fun outlet.  Think of this as an online diary of sorts. While some posts might make you think or even provoke you to do something, it’s meant as an outlet to put my thoughts on paper.  Well, that’s all for now.  This post will stay up for the next few days and starting Monday, March 16th, you will see new daily content.

Last:  Shout Outs!  There are a few people I would like to thank for helping me get this blog up:

  • Chris Ediger- Thanks for asking me the Master Po (circa 1970s  Kung Fu TV series) style question.

Chris- “Grasshopper, if no one reads your blog, will you….still write it?”

             Me- “Yes.”

             Chris- “Then go….and blog.”

Your design assistance and technical translation was very helpful.  Check out Chris’ blog, hyperlinked to the right- In The Thin Places.

  • JD Fairweather- my friend, business partner and FORMER mentee.  Always there for me at the drop of a Blackberry Messenger conversation to help me create widgets, etc.
  • Shawn Blake- so glad to re-connect with my younger brother after a few years.  Thanks for taking the pictures.
  • Last on this list, but first in my heart, my wife Jen.  You continue to amaze me with your support and love.  Thanks babe!

Happy Reading!

  1. Aaronde Seckou,

This is so exciting to see and read. You’ve always had a gift for words and writing. It’s a blessing to me as your mother to see you using the gifts God has placed in you. In doing so, you honor Him. May He continue to be glorified through your blog! To infinity and beyond, IN HIM!! :-)

Love you much, my first born!

  2. HI Aaronde – this is the first blog relationship for me! Your mom is my beloved spiritual mentor. We worked together at Data Systems, where we heard the delightful stories of your childhood, and then volunteered in LMR, when I enjoyed the celebrations of your adulthood. I look forward to hearing more directly your thoughts!
My best to you and your family, Pam

    What a unique opportunity…
to become familiar with a new communication skill and
to reconnect with your sweet spirit after all these years of ‘becoming’.

I was gratified to see you, Rhyan & Kyleigh; especially with Gwen.
What an experience to see the shared interest in writing!
